![]() | Windy has the character and charm of the great days of sail. She is a 148-foot schooner and a class "B" tall ship. Built of modern materials, but like the old trading schooners and sail training ships, she is silently pushed by the winds once her sails are set and engine turned off. Guests may help by raising and trimming the sails, or even taking a trick at the wheel. Seating is on cabin tops and decks with some chairs available. Shortly after leaving the dock, the Captain ordered the sails to be hoisted. Immediately, there were volunteers at the ready to hoist up the jib. PJ, the young boy in the foreground, was celebrating his birthday with his grandmother. He was really excited about helping the captain, but had to let the bigger guys do most of this work. |
